For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Find out how much static is present?<\/li>\n<li>Establish standards of acceptability for static levels in processes.<\/li>\n<li>Reject material if it is too static generative.<\/li>\n<li>To see where and how the static is being generated.<\/li>\n<li>To see if static eliminators are effective and if they are in the best position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Typical static levels:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1000V &#8211; active dust attraction begins<\/li>\n<li>3000V &#8211; attraction of light materials e.g. 20\u00b5 film<\/li>\n<li>6000V &#8211; attraction of heavier film and papers &amp; hairs on back of hand move danger level in many hazardous areas<\/li>\n<li>1000V &#8211; film wraps around rollers in coating &amp; gravure printing etc. and severe dust attractionThe locator measures the surface voltage in V or kV.
